Bridges, expansion of Central Avenue Jazz Park Historical Tile Mural

Ceramic tile mural, created with youth ages 14-17 during workshops with the artist, City of Los Angeles, Cultural Affairs Department; Dunbar Economic Development Corporation; City of Los Angeles Council District 9; Artworx (formerly the HeArt Project), 2005/2015. Special note: originally commissioned in 2005, to commemorate musicians who performed at the Dunbar Hotel and other jazz clubs along Central Avenue in the 1930s and 1940s, the mural was expanded in 2015 and it’s expansion named Bridges to link the past and present as well as represent LatinX community members with both symbols and portraits.
